Performance Hall, Classrooms, Conference Rooms, Multi-Purpose Room
We recently completed work on a new academic building for Assumption College. This new multi-purpose building was design by Nault Architects to serve a variety of the college’s programmatic needs. The project includes a 400-seat performance/lecture hall, music rehearsal room, classrooms, seminar rooms, faculty offices and a 400-person multi-function space. Cavanaugh Tocci provided acoustic, audiovisual and theater consulting services to Nault Architects for this project.
From the beginning of the process the performance hall needed to serve a wide variety of uses, from lectures to choral performance. After exploring a number of options, the team decided to pursue an electro-acoustic system for the space. After visiting a beta installation in Iowa, we decided to go with the Wenger Transcend System. This allows the school to have a hall suitable for lectures while at the same time provide a good acoustic environment for choral performance, which had been performing in a chapel on campus. Cavanaugh Tocci worked with Nault to integrate the Transcend System both into the architecture and the main audiovisual system for the room.
The center also includes a number of classrooms, video-conferencing equipped conference rooms and a dividable multi-purpose room with spectacular views of the campus.
