Our experience includes new buildings, renovation and re-use projects, and correcting problems in existing buildings. Issues common to most educational buildings include sound isolation and mechanical system noise. Specialized areas include auditoriums, music rooms, and distance learning classrooms.

This building houses the Music Department and the Music Library. Special rooms for the Music Department include: a large rehearsal room with adjustable acoustics; a Gamelon room, and a Music Lecture room furnished with a piano and a full A/V system.

Boston University Photonics Building, Boston, MA

In many ways this was a new type of building for a University, combining lecture rooms, faculty offices, research labs, and shell space for future research labs anticipating contracts with corporate partners and government agencies. Significant attention to vibration control for this site adjacent to the Mass Pike, commuter-rail, and MBTA Green Line (surface LRV).

Portland Design Team, Portland, ME
This building includes complete video production and audio recording studios. Our work included recommendations for mechanical system noise control, acoustical isolation between studio spaces, and design specifications for acoustical finishes in critical audio/television recording spaces.

Bates College Classroom Building, Lewiston, ME
Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott, Boston, MA
This new classroom building includes a four-story atrium lobby/lounge, and a special conference room for the Board of Trustees. The Boardroom is on the penthouse level, with major mechanical rooms on both sides.
