Community Noise

As development density increases, new buildings, highways, power plants, and factories must be located near or within existing communities. Almost always these are perceived as an intrusion to an existing neighborhood acoustical environment, especially where the community perceives no direct benefit from the project. Cavanaugh Tocci Associates, Inc. has served as consultant to clients who were noise producers as well as to communities who were noise recipients. Our consulting task is to identify and quantify the acoustical parameters and to suggest appropriate criteria for the particular situation, or to review existing applicable local codes and standards in assessing the noise impact.
