CTA recently completed work on the Verizon Innovation Center in San Francisco. This new center is the west coast counterpart to the first one in Waltham, MA. Like Waltham, the San Francisco center is a dynamic and technology-rich environment designed to showcase new and developing wireless products. Unlike Waltham, which is in a new Verizon building, the San Francisco project is on two floors of an office building where Verizon is leasing office space. The design challenge was to bring the same level of excitement and innovation to a more conventional commercial office footprint. A two-story tall, double-sided video display “totem” integrates with a striking volume and signature staircase created within the existing floor plates. A highly flexible exhibit and demonstration space gives Verizon the ability to continually evolve their displays without changing the infrastructure. A demonstration theater, two conference rooms and a multi-purpose room are also included in the center.
The Association of Briefing Program Managers recognized the Center a World Class award at their 2014 meeting.
